The 14th Infantry Color Guard at the Main Gate to Ft. Davis

The 14th Infantry was assigned to protect the Panama Canal Zone for 23 years.  Kay Thomas and John Gates
were both born while their father, then MSG T.P. Gates (shown below), was in the 14th Infantry stationed at Ft. Davis.
Both grew up as "Dragon Brats" at Ft. Davis and have kindly provided all of the imagery and original documents shown
in this segment that reflect the Life, Times and Traditions of the 14th Infantry in the 1920's and 30's.

MSG Gates later became an officer prior to WWII and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1952, after 33 years of service.
