Dear guys of the 1-14th / Vietnam,

Some of you have been wondering who the webperson of  the 1-14th website is these
days, so I am writing this to introduce myself to you and to tell you how I came to be
here, doing this.

My name is Candace. I'm not a veteran, although I am of  your generation (high school
class of '64), and a few of those dearest to me over the years  have been veterans of
the Vietnam war.

I found Terry's site of the 1-14th while researching my grandfather, Robert Miesse,
who served with the 1-14th in 1900, at both the Zapote River, in the Philippines,
and the Boxer Rebellion, in Peking.  I wrote to Tom Jones to contribute the image
of  my grandfather's Company (Company F) for display on the site.  It was then I
learned that, due to the death of Terry Bender, the website was in a limbo state, still
online but inactive.  Realizing the importance of the history on this site, and the extent
of work done by Terry and others, I volunteered to take on it's restructure and
management.

I am pleased and honored to have been given this responsibility, and I promise you that
I'll do the very best I can to make this site all that Terry dreamed it would be..  It's been
alot of work... far more than I imagined it would be...but the rewards are great and it's
become, for me also, a labor of love.

Golden Dragons, this is your site.  Please feel free to contact me with your ideas, with
clarification or corrections, or just to say hello.  Thank you for your Service... for putting
your lives on the line that protects my family and my country.  God bless you, each one.

Candace
